Beowulf

The Hero Epic, Beowulf

 

Beowulf is considered the most important work in Old English literature. In this exercise answer one of the following essay questions:

  1. Are the values about a warrior society in Beowulf generalized in modern society?
  2. How do the ideals of a "hero" transcend centuries?
  3. What are some of the absences found in today's "hero" as compared to Beowulf?
  4. How does the role of women in today's societies and cultures contrast in Beowulf?
  5. Why do we still study Beowulf centuries later?  

 

Paper Requirements:

  • Two Pages, double spaced
  • Works cited: four sources- books or research databases
  • MLA
