Use Those Notes!

Sometimes putting together all your notes into a cohesive paper can be the most challenging part of writing. Not to worry! Simply by blending your notes with paraphrasing, quoting, and summarzing will assit you in developing a stronger paper. Remember to include in-text or parenthetical citation

You might want to consider the following points:

  • Paraphrasing = at least one paraphrased statement per paragraph
  • Quoting = use two to three direct quotes throughout your paper
  • Summarize = use in the opening and/or concluding paragraphs

If you need some guidance on paraphrasing, quoting, and summarize, please refer to the Avoiding Plagiarism tutorial.
